Augmented Color Intelligence

Are you relying on intuition and traditional research methodologies to make color decisions for you products or brands? Did you ever wondered what goes into making color predictions, forecasting color use in industry two years in advance, or selecting the right color for a product? Traditionally, color decision making processes have relied on personal experience, as robust as it might be, limited datasets, and expansive-to-conduct market research. All of this is about to change. In today's world of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, new platforms and tools are emerging to support and augment intelligent and informed color decisions, ones that can be substantiated, validated and justified. Learn how color decision making has transformed over the last 30 years, through a personal journey that started watching the pros, becoming a pro, and coming to question our existing methods and look for new solutions that leverage today's technology to drive new color decision process of the highest efficacy.

Bio

Leslie Harrington Ph.D is the Co-founder of HueData, a color intelligence company, and the Executive Director of The Color Association of the United States, a color trend agency since 1915 specializing in Women’s, Men’s and Youth Fashion, as well as Interiors/Environments. 

Leslie held various senior management positions in the area of color strategy and color marketing over a 25+ year tenure within the industry, including a 16-year tenure as the Color and Design Director for Benjamin Moore Paints. She founded LH Color in 2001, specializing in aiding companies to develop color strategies and systems for products and brands in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, durable goods, consumer goods, and technology industries. In 2014 she co-founded HueData, a color intelligence company that compiles/collects and analyzes color data across multiple industries to inform and substantiate color decisions. She has developed and taught color courses on Color Strategy, Color Fundamentals, Color Psychology, Color in Branding and Color Forecasting & Trends. She has developed e-learning program for corporate training on Fundamentals of Color, Color in Application, Color Theory & Constructs and Color: Pigment to perception. As well she has over 20 referred papers on the topic of color design, marketing and the affects and effects on color. She currently is on the Executive Committee of AIC, a member of ISCC, and ASID, has an undergraduate degree in Interior Design, an MBA from NYU, Stern School of Business, and a Ph.D. in Color Strategy.
